The DILLILLIERMEISTER Hobby-E2 is easy to handle. It is ready to use in a few simple steps. For heating, place the distillery on an induction plate. For cooling you need a pot, bucket or bowl of cold water - 10 liters should be enough. With a simple, low-power pump (such as aquarium pump), you can direct water from the reservoir to port 4.4. The hot water leaves the cooling above 4.5. They redirect it back to their water container. Since the cooler is amply sized for its task, a small water flow is sufficient for the cooling.

This distiller impresses with its particularly solid material quality. With a 3-litre plant chamber, you have a decent volume for hobby use, even for processing larger quantities of plants or drugs. By raising the aroma basket (optional), you can also experiment with smaller quantities, but you should then work with reduced heating power. The steam is generated in a separate boiler under the plant container, so that contact with boiling water is impossible. Easy handling:

• In the new model, optimised clamping fasteners mean that no seals are required between the 1st and 2nd or 3rd and 4th chambers. Sealing is achieved by metal contact. This means that there are no follow-up costs for this model.
• Fill the water/steam boiler with at least 1.3 litres and no more than 1.7 litres of ideally demineralised or distilled water.
• Attach the 3-litre plant tube and close the boiler with the clamps 1.1.
• Place the aroma basket in the plant tube and open it.
• Fill to the brim with herbs or medicinal plants – do not compress. This is approximately 3 litres.
• Place the lid 3 on top and tighten the fasteners 2.4.
• Insert the distillation bridge 4 into the socket 3.1.
• Insert the thermometer with the plug into the socket 4.2.
• Screw any cooling water hoses that are not included in the accessories to the cooler.
• Switch on the heat source and collect the hydrolate with oil at 4.6.
• Distil for about 8 minutes at high power (induction plate 2000 watts). You should have 500 ml of distillate.

The water/steam container and plant/drug tube, as well as all distillate-carrying pipes and connections, are made of stainless steel.

DISTILLIERMEISTER E3620 Supreme for up to 20 liters of plant / drug volume

DISTILLIERMEISTER E3620 Supreme is an easy-to-use distillation system for essential oils in Supreme stainless steel quality. The amount of plants can be varied with the continuously adjustable aroma sieve. However, you should make sure that the thickness of the plant layer does not become too small, otherwise there is a risk that the steam will flow through without loosening the essential oils. This distiller is more of a plant for larger quantities of plants. The following applies: smaller quantities, lower heating power.
With a total volume of 36 liters, this offer is the cheapest that can be offered in this quality. The spherical helmet ensures optimal steam focusing in the riser. Basically, it is recommended that the filling extends as far as possible into the helmet until just before the riser opening and the helmet z. B. is insulated with a blanket to reduce dripping losses. But it is also advisable to insulate the riser pipe and the walls of the boiler above the aroma strainer from the outside; this increases the yield and also saves heating energy.

The registration-free DESTILLIERMEISTER E2 - 55 Premium Plus Model 2024 has been optimised once again. The stand is now designed so that the boiler can be removed from the system for refilling with plants or water and the cooling system with riser pipe and lid remains in place. This makes work faster and therefore more economical. The next distillation can start within a few minutes.

Everything else had already been improved in the 2023 model. The pre-condenser for the pressure-loss-free transition to liquefy the vapour in the cooler has been designed longer and is curved. The distillate cooler is now also designed in a curved shape instead of the bulky Liebig cooler and is nevertheless longer. This makes the entire system much more compact and the overall longer cooling length has once again significantly reduced the cooling water consumption. The boiler has a bubble size of 2 litres, which is permitted without notification, but the plant tube has a total volume of a whopping 5.5 litres. This makes it one of the largest legal and registration-free distilleries for essential oils. The riser pipe of the Premium model is insulated to minimise drip-back losses. This means that the Premium model is optimised for the extraction of essential oils and hydrolates.
The vapour is liquefied in the pre-condenser so that the reduction in cross-section when transferring to the final condenser also takes place without pressure loss. Note: Pressure losses in the pipework system have the effect of increasing the pressure in the plant pipe, so the vapour has to work against a pressure mountain. This causes the hydrolate and oil to drip back, resulting in losses. This also increases the temperature in the plant pipe because the boiling point rises. This damages the essential oils and reduces their quality.

In our own tests, we were able to extract a full 30 ml of essential oil from dried lavender flowers in 16 minutes using this still. We also obtained a litre of excellent lavender hydrolate. We were surprised by the effectiveness of this still ourselves. Obviously, the optimum ratio of plant cane height to plant cane diameter has had a positive effect on efficiency. The DESTILLIERMEISTER E2-55 Premium Plus is therefore ideal for anyone who wants to produce essential oils and hydrosols effectively without customs formalities.

For the vast majority of plants and flowers, the water supply is sufficient for a complete distillation. However, if one litre of hydrolate is not enough, as we found when distilling fennel seeds, for example, there is a water refill nozzle on the boiler. This allows you to equalise the amount of hydrolat removed with the corresponding amount of water without having to dismantle the system. This saves a considerable amount of time during work.
The insulated riser pipe already reduces drip-back losses. The drip losses can be further reduced by also insulating the plant pipe, e.g. with a blanket. A higher oil yield can then be expected.

With 5.5 litres of plant space, they have plenty of volume to process larger quantities of plants or drugs. However, you can also experiment with smaller quantities by raising the flavour basket, but you should then work with reduced heating power so that the steam does not simply flow through the plant material without any effect. The steam is generated in an extra boiler under the plant container, so that contact with boiling water can be ruled out.

• Fill 1.9 litres of water into the water/steam boiler, either demineralised or distilled water, or tap water if the limescale is removed from the bottom of the boiler with heated citric or acetic acid after a few distillations.
• Put the lid on 2. and close it with clamps,
• Screw the plant tube 3. onto the lid and tighten.
• Insert the flavouring basket, without the adjustable legs for full capacity, with legs and raised basket for smaller quantities.
• Fill with up to 5 litres of herbs or drugs - do not compress chopped herbs.
• Place lid 4. on top and tighten clamps 3.2.
• Screw on the insulated riser pipe.
• First insert the stand rod 9.1. into the pre-condenser. Then screw on the pre-condenser so that the pipework runs behind the riser pipe with some clearance. This should be automatically correct if the markings are observed. The boiler with the pre-condenser should now be stable.
• First insert the standpipes for the final condenser. Then screw on the final cooler. The cooling pipes should now have a gradient everywhere.
• Connect with connecting hose 8: 6.3 with 7.4.
• Screw the cooling water hoses to the radiator 7.3 and the pre-condenser 6.4 (cooling water hoses are not included but are available as accessories. With the -AI model, all this is included). The cooling water inlet has a 1/2‘ thread and the outlet on the pre-condenser is 3/4’. The cooling water always flows in the opposite direction to the distillate flow from bottom to top.
• Switch on the heat source and collect the hydrolat with oil at 7.5.
• With the plant tube full, distil for a maximum of 30 minutes at high power (induction plate 2000 or 3000 watts) for most plants. For small quantities of plants and a raised flavour basket, 1200 to 1500 watts. It is best to first collect 2 batches of 500 ml each in a sterile bottle. If the pH value of the 2nd batch does not deviate significantly from the 1st batch and is below 5, you can collect more stomachs. However, the amount of hydrolate removed should first be topped up with water via the refill nozzle 2.2.

DESTILLIERMEISTER E10-55 Premium-Plus

Für die Destillation von ätherischen Ölen optimierte legale Edelstahl-Destille mit großem Fassungsvermögen für Blüten und Blätter

Der DESTILLIERMEISTER E10-55 Premium-Plus Modell 2024 ist eine erweiterte Variante des Modells E2-55 Premium Plus Modell 2023 mit einem Wasser-/Dampfkessel von über 10 Litern. Da hier der Wasservorrat in der Regel für mehrere Destillationen reicht, ist hier das Pflanzenrohr auf dem Wasserkessel verschraubbar konzipiert worden, damit es separat abgenommen werden kann, um es mit neuen Pflanzen oder Drogen zu füllen. Der Unterschied ist die komplette Aufständerung der Destillierbrücke incl. einer 3. Stütze für den Endkühler durch ein verstellbares Stativ, sodass Kessel und Pflanzenrohr zum Neufüllen herausgenommen werden kann und alles andere stehen bleibt. Das beschleunigt das Arbeiten damit erheblich. Das findet man weiter unten dokumentiert.

Der Vorkondensor zum druckverlustfreien Übergang zur Verflüssigung des Dampfes in den Kühler ist mit über 1 m Kühllänge komfotabel ausgestattet worden. Um das System kompakt zu halten, ist er gebogen konzipiert. Steigrohr und Vorkondensor sind miteinander verschraubbar gefertigt, so dass das System leichter handhabbar und variabler ist. Auch der Destillatkühler ist in gewundener Form ausgelegt und kann dadurch länger ausgelegt werden, ohne dass das System ausladend wird. Insgesamt ergeben Vorkondensor und Hauptkühler Kühllänge von über 2 m, so dass nur verhältnismäßig wenig Kühlwasser verbraucht wird. 
Das Steigrohr des Premium-Plus Modells ist zur Minimierung der Rücktropfverluste isoliert. Insgesamt ist das Premium-Plus-Modell für die Gewinnung von ätherischen Ölen und Hydrolaten optimiert. Im Vorkondensor wird der Dampf verflüssigt, ohne dass in diesem 1. Schritt der Querschnitt beim Übergang des Dampfes vom Steigrohr in die Kühlung reduziert wird. Daher muss der Dampf hier nicht gegen einen Druckberg anströmen, was zu Ölverlusten führen würde, aber auch die Temperatur an den Pflanzen ist damit niedriger als ohne Vorkondensor. Erst beim beim Übergang in den Endkühler wird der Querschnitt reduziert, erzeugt aber keinen Strömungswiderstand mehr, weil der Dampf mittlerweile verflüssigt ist.
Zur Anmerkung: Druckverluste im Leitungssystem wirken sich als Druckerhöhung im Pflanzenrohr aus, der Dampf muss also gegen einen Druckberg arbeiten. Das schadet den ätherischen Ölen und vermindert deren Qualität.

Aus früheren Versuchen mit dem DESTILLIERMEISTER E2-55 Premium wissen wir, dass sich das optimale Verhältnis von Pflanzenrohrhöhe zu Pflanzenrohrdurchmesser positiv auf die Effizienz auswirkt. Wegen der größeren Verdampfungsfläche des Wasserkessels wird die Destillationsgeschwindigkeit signifikant erhöht, was eine Verkürzung der Destillationsdauer und eine kürzere Aufenthaltsdauer der ätherischen Öle in einer heißen Umgebung bewirkt. Es wirkt sich also auch auf die Qualität der Destillate aus.

Für die allermeisten Pflanzen und Blüten reicht der Wasservorrat für 6 bis 7 Destillationen bei Entnahme von 1 Liter Destillat pro Destillation. Wenn die Entnahme von einem Liter Hydrolat pro Destillation aber einmal nicht ausreicht, was wir z. B. bei der Destillation von Fenchelsamen festgestellt haben, reicht der Wasservorrat für mindestens 2 Destillationen. Das bringt eine deutliche Zeitersparnis bei der Arbeit verglichen mit dem 2 Liter - Dampfkessel. Die Verwendung eines großen Kessels zur Hydrolat Gewinnung ist auch in Deutschland völlig legal. Sie müssen einen Kessel über 2 Liter aber dem Zoll melden, dürfen ihn dann uneingeschränkt nutzen, auch für den Privatgebrauch.
Durch das isolierte Steigrohr werden Rücktropf-Verluste bereits reduziert. Die Rücktropf-Verluste lassen sich weiter reduzieren, indem man das Pflanzen-Rohr ebenfalls isoliert, z. B. mit einer Decke. Damit ist dann eine höhere Öl-Ausbeute zu erwarten.

Mit 5,5 Liter Pflanzenraum haben sie reichlich Volumen, um größere Mengen Pflanzen oder Drogen zu verarbeiten. Durch Hochstellen des Aromakorbes können Sie aber auch mit kleineren Mengen experimentieren, sie sollten dann aber mit verminderter Heizleistung arbeiten, damit der Dampf nicht einfach ohne Wirkung das Pflanzengut durchströmt. Da die Dampferzeugung in einem extra Kessel unter dem Pflanzenbehälter stattfindet, ist eine Berührung mit kochendem Wasser ausgeschlossen. Sie sollten den Kessel aber nur mit maximal 9 Liter füllen, damit sich der Dampf im Kessel entwickeln kann und bei Siedeverzug kein heißes Wasser mit hochgezogen wird.
Wasser- / Dampfbehälter und Pflanzen-/ Drogenrohr, sowie alle destillatführenden Rohrleitungen sind in hochwertigem Edelstahl ausgeführt.
