Construction of optimised stills since 2006
NEW! No silicone seal required
DESTILLIERMEISTER Hobby-EH2
Legal 2 litre hobby still made of stainless steel with still helmet for essential oils - no registration required
A hobby still made of stainless steel that does not require registration. With this beautiful still you can produce hydrosols, essential oils and distilled water.
Except for induction, any fireplace can be used. Maybe to heat, simply place the still on a stove or gas cooker.
In Austria or Switzerland, you may also legally use this still as a classic pot still with a helmet to produce a noble brandy. Or you can fill the aroma basket that extends into the helmet with fruits or herbs to produce a delicious spirit.
Easy to use and innovative:
- The new model no longer requires a seal between 1. and 2. due to the optimised clamp. Sealing is done metallically. This means that there are no follow-up costs for this model.
- The new Hobby-EH2 model has a stainless steel socket instead of the red bronze socket.
- Fill approx. 1.2 litres of distilled water into the boiler,
- fill the half-closed and raised flavour basket 5 with fresh herbs or blossoms, or with drugs, and place it in the boiler. The plant filling should reach up to the top of the helmet if possible.
- Put on helmet 2 with distilling module 3 and tighten clamping fasteners 2.2 by hooking the clamping hooks under the stainless steel cable.
- Screw the water hoses onto the cooler, connect one end (3.5) to a submersible pump (e.g. aquarium pump) and direct the other end (3.6) into a cooling water storage tank. This is also available as an optional accessory. Alternatively, you can connect the whole thing to a domestic water connection.
- Switch on the heat source and collect the hydrosol and oil at 3.7,
- distilling at a medium heat for a maximum of 16 minutes. After 8 minutes, the receiver should be changed for the first time, the amount of oil assessed and the pH value determined.
The distillation pot and all pipes carrying distillate are made of stainless steel.
The DESTILLIERMEISTER Hobby-EH2 is easy to use. It is ready for use in just a few simple steps.
For cooling, you need a pot, bucket or bowl of cold water – 10 litres should be sufficient. Use a simple low-power pump (e.g. aquarium pump) to draw water from the reservoir to connection 3.5. You can also purchase the distiller as a set with the necessary accessories. The hot water leaves the cooling system via 3.6. You then return it to your water vessel.
Structure
- Water/steam boiler, 2 litres. About 1 litre of water, preferably distilled, is poured into the pot.
- Stainless steel safety cable for the clamping hooks
- Distillation helmet with
- socket for the distillation bridge.
- Locking latches for secure closure of the pot.
- The distillation bridge
- riser,
- thermometer socket,
- spirit tube,
- Liebig condenser, double tube,
- cooling water inlet,
- hot water outlet,
- distillate outlet.
- Distilling thermometer with stopper for insertion into 3.2. The thermometer is inserted from the upper, thick end of the stopper and pushed through until the black mark on the thermometer just peeks out at the bottom. Before inserting the thermometer at the lower coloured end, apply a little cooking oil to the thermometer. After distillation, the thermometer is best left in the plug because it can easily break when it is pulled out. The filling is either green or red.
- Adjustable aroma basket for holding the plants. The basket can extend into the helmet as far as possible. This means that a considerable amount of plants can be processed in a single distillation.
- Addition: So that you can start distilling immediately, you will now receive a 500 g package of dried lavender flowers in an aroma and light protection bag. This is sufficient for many distillations. The packaging is equipped with an aroma protection seal. These flowers are particularly suitable for steam distillation.
Important notice:
Since 1 January 2018, this distiller may also be sold legally in Germany without registration with the authorities under the new German alcohol tax law. Please note that, as a dealer, we must point out that this still may only be used for the distillation of distilled water, hydrolates, essential oils, aromas, fragrances, perfumes, food, for alchemical experiments, etc. or as a collector's item. If you distil alcohol and get caught, you will have to expect a fine and the distillation equipment will be confiscated.
